Our local wrecking yard has a '63 F100 with a y-block. The block is B9AE, has G heads with ECG rockers, and a car oil pan. They want $250 for it. I don't want to kick it around the garage forever, but I hate to see it crushed. I don't need anything off the engine. Anybody here need anything?

Find out if it is a 312. If it's stuck, I wouldn't give them $250, though. Can you turn it over with a breaker bar or wrench? I have a friend in Spring Hill who may be able to bring it to me.

Charlie Don't know yet if it will turn over or not. Couldn't get down into the crank bolt to try. The front clip is supposed to be off this week, so I should be able to tell then. With 100+ weather, I haven't been really anxious to go tackle getting it out of the truck. At least one head (couldn't get where I could read the other) is ECZ-G in small letters. Is there a major difference between the large/small letter heads? I may try early Saturday morning to get a better look. Wish I could get the pan off to check the mains for ecz castings, but that won't happen til the engine is out of the truck.

If it's a 312 I'm interested. I wouldn't do more than $100 if it is stuck, though.

Butch Lawson (6/28/2012) ........ At least one head (couldn't get where I could read the other) is ECZ-G in small letters. Is there a major difference between the large/small letter heads? .......As a general rule the small letter ‘G’ heads are always of the unposted variety. To date I’ve only seen posted heads on the ‘big letter’ ECZ-G heads and never on the ‘small letter’ ECZ-G heads. But they are still G heads and still very desirable assuming they are rebuildable.

It was over 100 degrees here again yesterday and to be really honest, I was a little relieved when I got there and found that it was gone. Just didn't feel like crawling around and wrestling that thing out of the truck. Was gonna have to pull it myself.

It's 103 right now. I have things I want to do but I don't want to do them in that.
