Well I'm proud to say we can claim another Land speed record for the Y-block and the 55 ford. The ECTA season got underway this weekend at a new venue in Wilmington Ohio and man is it a great facility. One mile smooth as silk concrete (much different than Maxton as I'm sure Charlie can vouch for). We were able to run 152.25 for the C/CPRO record. The weather was not in our favor but we managed 2 passes in between rain shower. 148.12 and then our 152.25. the class had a open record due to the new venue but we felt a little vindicated by breaking the retired Maxton record by 4 MPH. Here is a small video of the run. I have a better in car video but I will have figure out how to edit it down before I can post it. I got to hand it to the other LSR y-blocker out there running it seems easy on paper till you get out there trying it. Thanks Sam Gable

Good job!  You're right, it's easy on paper.  You just keep trying though and it pays off! Smile

Sam, congratulations on a job well done.  150 plus is a great accomplishment because it is only a one mile standing start run.  It is more like a drag race than at El Mirage with 1.3 miles or Bonneville with 3.0 miles to get top speed.  Yes, I envy your smooth ride.  By the way, the car looks great.

Thanks Everyone its cool to be recognized by people who know what it takes to accomplish something like this. Here is the in cat video as promised. Excuse the stuff on the windshield it is were i ruined the glass with wielding splatter and the camera makes it look worse.

Thanks Keith i might be at speed week but only as a crew member or spectator. The record in my class at Bonnieville is 230 so it would take quite a bit of money just to be legal to run and there is no chance I can get anything close to that speed. I am thinking of trying for the 150 class at world of speed in sept. You and your crew would love it at wilmington and I want to see what your 32 can do I bet its would be impressive.

What does the "C/C PRO class designation stand for. And what are the basic parameters of the class?

Outstanding run! I think in the next few years a lot of Y-Block records are about to fall again!
Noticed the air playing with the rear edge of the hood scoop. I can't help but think that indicated some turbulence. I wonder if there is some speed there? Chuck (who knows nothing about LSR cars)

Y's guys rule!
Looking for McCullouch VS57 brackets and parts. Also looking for 28 Chrysler series 72 parts. And early Hemi parts.
