I googled some of the messages that come up on that yellow screen and it seems this occurs with some other forums. At least we are not alone.

I have asked my developer friend to look at the different packages that Instant Forum sells, if we can get the $199 version, I will be very happy! Stay tuned!

Just the nature of the "beast". I guess it is one of those glitches that will not go away. I just go on to other sites and then go back. It's usually over by them.

Similar to Bill, I get the yellow screen error, but have always thought it was connected withe site being offline for maintenance, cos it is usually works if I leave it an hour or so, bearing in mind that here in West Oz we are 14 hours ahead in time but 10 years behind in what is available.

The problem does seem to be getting more frequent and last for longer though. It does however give me reason to turn off the computer.

I have come to the realization that i hate all computers. They never do what they promise and they are seem almost impossible to figure out. Sounds like a woman.

I get a yellow screen server error message with the stack for trouble shooting the problem. It looks like it denies log on until the "who's online" file dumps a few user names (or is manually emptied) Perhaps if the "who's online" (sounds like Abbot & Costello !) feature was disabled, the problem would go away.

Yep, had same message since yesterday and this morning here in Australia, back on line last half hour, now i,m feeling better!!Smile

It looks like InstantForum 4.1.4 is superseded by InstantForum 2010 5, which in turn is superseded by InstantForum 2012. I would be very happy to donate money to offset the cost of upgrading the software, if you think that would help. The folks here are wonderful, and the archive of knowledge is invaluable.

Yes, there is a problem with the forum software. I have asked a programmer that I used to work with to take a look at the code. It is as frustrating to me as it is to the rest of you. The long term fix is to find a better software package but I hat to even think about that as it would probably mean that we would start at ground zero again. We had to do this three years into the forum due to hackers and have been able to avoid that with this software, but now it is having other issues. I am hoping that the developer finds something on this.
