I can't make it to Charlotte at that time.  My old car has the exhaust holes and I kind of like that look, but I might be talked into changing if the price was right. Most likely I will contact Bumper Boyz and try to get something at Carlisle.

Jan, are you coming to the auto fair in Charlotte N.C. the weekend of the 19-20-21 April. I have a rear nos 55-56 no exhaust ports and I may take it down there. This is a huge event auto flea market auto show and everything else combined.

What sort of prices do the Bumper boys charge? Also, as far as New England Chrome goes I've seen and heard some bad stories about them. Slow to finish and lost parts. I have no first hand experience with them but do live in New England. With chrome you will generally get what you pay for assuming the plater is good at what they do. Thats why many people use Pauls. Real expensive but real good work. I think you can expect to pay $300 to $500 each to rechrome decent bumpers. Chuck

If you don't need show chrome, Bumper boys will be in Carlisle mid April, you can just exchange yours with them, they have quite a bit of stock, call first and make sure and they will bring it. Probably the cheapest you will find. I have exchanged a few with them, not show but no complaints.

I had the bumpers replated on my '53 Studebaker driver about 3 years ago by a shop in Indianapolis.  They charged me $650 for the pair.  The chrome is beautiful, but there are a couple of ripples in the steel that show if you look closely in the right light, so I wouldn't consider them "show chrome".  They didn't put the ripples in, but they didn't get them polished out.

Ive used pauls for several parts, but not bumpers. A little pricey, but certainly not the most expensive (call the finishing touch he in chicago if you ever need need a good laugh...)

Pauls is very professional. Will. Send pics with number cards of what they received, a formal estimate/contract, and good accountability of parts through the whole process. Pretty accurate on the time estimates, and very high quality work.

Just my 2 cents, ymmv.
