The truck bellhousing is different than the cars.

I saw 2 Ford-o-matics from 56 p/u's yesterday while buying some other Y-stuff.

It's the same as a ford o matic. Just came in a merc. 3 speed, air cooled. $200 + shipping

I am not too familair with that tgype of transmission...will it bolt up to the 272 and will I need to change the drive shaft? How much would you sell it for?

I have a Merc-0- matic out of a 56 Montclair. It shifted great before I pulled it. Took it out with the engine when the engine threw a rod out the side of the block. Located near San Jose ca.

I am looking for a stock automatic transmission for a 272 block to replace my original 3 speed tranny. Any help wil be great
