Hi Y guys and Happy New Year

Hope everyone had a happy and safe New Year.

I'm having some gauge problems with my every day driver. A long bed stepside '67 pick up with a 300 six backed by a c-4.

A new voltage regulator and different altenator have not improved the issue. The gauge bounces up to straight up and down in the middle and falls back to the negative side, zero. And lights go bright dim bright dim.

I'm looking for a wiring diagram for a car or truck (6 or 8) from that era. Don't care if the wires are color coded or not. At this point I'm pretty sure a previous owner did a wiring job that ended up bass ackwards.

As always, all help is greatly appreciated.

Although it has never happened to me, I think this was a pretty common occurance in those days, somewhere I have seen an advertisement for a fix to this, I don't remember if they were talking about a new voltage regulator or if they were talking about the headlight switch or the dimmer switch causing it. In any case, check contacts at all those locations, the regulator you can clean the points and tweak for better output, and check grounds.
