I placed wanted adds for a running 292 on a few forums and was informed about a 312 that was dropped off at a machine shop and never picked up so I will be checking it out,if it comes with all new parts to put it back togather I will gladly pay the 1200.00 they are asking for it since it will cost more to go through my 292. I have requested casting numbers to see if it is actually what they say it is.

I think that would be a great deal. You would know what you are getting. I have a 292 from a f100 that is good in Ashtabula.

I hope it is actually a 312 and has all the new parts,if its just the motor with all the machine work done and no new parts I will just go through my 292.

It looks like the 312 is not as it was described, the person that told me about it thought it was ready to assemble but looks to still needs machine work. I did find a rebuilt 292 in Alabama that has been broken in and ran in the shop, the owner decided to go with a 390 so I am going to check this one out.
