This is the project that I put on hold to finish the Falcon. This is what I wanted all the time, so this is what I'll be working on this winter.

Still kicking around powertrain ideas, but it will be pump gas and street legal for sure.

Glen,

I have lusted for a Custom 300 for a long time. Have even occasionally considered trading my Bird for the "right" one. My high school buddy had a 57 Custom 300 two tone green with Fairlane trim hockey sticks, 312 and 3 on the floor. I loved that ride. Unfortunately, Custom 300's are bringing some pretty hefty prices lately. Looking forward to see what you do with yours.

Also love the 2 door Customs. Had a Custom 300 2 door back in '67 along with my '57 T Bird. Girl friend got pregnant and something had to go. Sold the 2 door. Still have the Bird. Would love to have another one. Mine had a 300 horse 390 with a heavy duty Borg Warner T85 3 speed, Hurst shifter and 3:89 rear end.  Had a 292 4barrel in if before the 390. Would love to have a factory 312 car today but would take any nice body. The shorter wheelbase and lighter weight make it a nicer driver than the larger Fairlane in my opinion. Had both back in the day.

Very rare factory option Frank, you had to know someone that knew someone to get it!

OK before someone puts a hex on me or moves to have me banned from the site, I am just thinking out loud. I had to see what it looked like and if it was as easy as everone said.

1963 Z code 390.
