I had the 390 in my 57 and a good friend had one in a 56. Another friend had a 352 in a 54. As I recall, it went in just as easy as the Y Block. Stock exhaust manifolds fit fine but you were limited with headers. The 406 anf 427 cast iron headers would not fit.

OK Potter, here a a couple just for you, Working on a very rough set of fiberglass fenders that I got from James a few years back. Still trying to decide if I'm going to try to convert them to a one piece frontend. I may try to fab a hood like the one I made for the Falcon and glass it into the fenders or not. Time will tell.

Glad to hear you're putting the FE in the truck and a Y in the `57...Can't wait to see the old `57 running, I hope I can get back on mine soon, my garage is full again, had to bring back all the wife's things from her late mom's place in NC, and just can't seem to find a place for all of it yet. As soon as I do, the runner 292 and 4 speed will be in, just dont have the room to work on it right now. Hopefully, will have my 312 disassembled and at the machine shop after Christmas. Looking to buy a bunch of good stuff for it soon, rods, pistons, etc. Keep posting those pictures, Glen, you're my inspiration right now!!

Glen, I really appreciate the valve covers. They will save a lot of time looking for them. They're even the right color with the correct logo!

Well Glen, now I am jealous. I had a `57 custom in 1969 with a 62 406 in it. I got in nothing but trouble with that car. I thought I`d better keep the hot cars on the track. At least I`m here to tell. That was another one that got away, but then again, who knew?

OK, I thought I would get more reaction than this, the 57 is getting a yblock, this 390 may end up in a 63 F100 that I have. The yblock will be streetable, but an easy task to pull the Eaton motor out of the Falcon and go racing. By the way Mummert owns the cool valve covers now.
