Came across an 80 year old that had a slew of Y blocks and parts he wants to get rid of before he passes on to better places. I brought one complete engine to my shop which had a B Intake with Holley 4bbl, the odd thing is it has the governed distributor which is the old style distirbutor and it has 3 vacuum tubes to it, with the later model holley for the B intake. I have a C1TE setup and it only had 2 lines to the governed distibutor. I beleive the 3rd must be some kind of throttle governer for a peice of industrial machinery. The points also have a cap over them like in a tractor.
opened it up to remove pistons and it has C1TE rods with ECZ on the bottom caps and the crank looks steel, the edges of the weights are very square, not like a typical cast crank. There was a rebuild tag from COTE in Boston on it, and it said .040 over, .010 mains and rods, I forgot to check the stroke before removing pistons, but the pistons are not marked anywhere but they do measure out to 3.790, The Crank has some funny markings that I have never seen, They don't look Ford. I will get pics tomorrow.
Heads are the ECR-A industrial heads with the sodium exhaust valves.
Anyone know if there were any aftermarket makers of steel cranks.
Oh, Block is an EDB
