Thanks very much to oldmics.  Tank went in with no issues and I now have a dry garage floor!

I had a 57 and ended up cutting the spare tire hump out (it was rusty anyway) and using a rectangular tank.  30 gallon capacity was nice.  Also, I'm sure you already know but I believe the tank from a wagon will work.

Later,

Let me check my magazines, there is a company advertising the 57 to 59 ranchero tanks as a new item.

just went through this for a 68 Ranchero, those are not being reproduced, found one in a 67 Falcon wagon.

Problem being, not many rancheros and wagons out there so if the companies cannot sell a hundred a year its not profitable for them to spend the money on tooling to reproduce them.

Paul-That spectra Premium have a website and it looks like they sell direct.58 Ranchero says "not available call".Not sure what that means. They do list  different products for vintage cars including cooling system parts.

Further info re gas tanks; I'm told that one of the manufacturers of replacement tanks is Spectra Premium Industries out of Boucherville Quebec. However, don't know if they are a retailer, but may be worth contacting if needed.

Boy,Have I been down this road Crazy

FordCraft in Texas (Don Hyde) has 2 left in stock @ $425.00 plus shipping.

I have 2 used ones that I would sell you. Both are out of Edsel wagons. As you can figure, one of them is what I am replacing and would probably be O.K. with one more can of sealer applied. It has a small seepage when full.

I figure that when I originally resealed it earlier this year that the sealer didnt get washed up hi enough in the tank.

The other tank is a takeoff from my Edsel wagon parts car and appears O.K. but I"m not cleaning and sealing another tank in my life as long as a replacement tank is availiable!

I suggest spending the money on a new tank and be done with it.

Also-please see the link below to a H.A.M.B. post about the differences in a Drake tank.
