Guys while fiddling with my 332 lincoln truck eng, it remindedme that i would like to try and get hold of the braided spark plug wire covers, i believe these were on the big fire trucks etc and had a weird dist cap with threaded outlets for the plug leads that had braided covers to screw onto and the spark plugs were longer with threaded ends for braided cover to connect to thus covering the leads completely, whilst not common, there may be someone here that can relate to this and these covers. thank you. Regards bill.

Not related to the Lincoln, but all of the US gas powered military vehicles and equipment used this system. We had GMC's, REO's, Ford's, White Mustang, Continental's, ect all used the water proof ign system. I still have a couple of the special wrenchs (crowfoot) used to remove the wires from the plugs. You might find some of this stuff from military surplus stores.
