For what it`s worth on 7/2/2011 The wife and I raced at the local track, Tri State Dragway  at Hamilton, Ohio. Saturday was designated Bob Frey (of NHRA fame, From the tower & Beneath the tower) Day. He was there with his camera crew doing a feature on grass roots  middle America drag racing.  As they were getting out of there car Barb saw them looking around and they stopped when they got to the Mercury. We struck up a conversation, He said at first glance he thought it was an Edsel. He said he likes cars that are different, I said they don't get anymore odd or different than this one, as a race car.

When he seen it was a 312 on the fender, He couldn't believe it was still a y-block, Much less the orginal engine. When I lifted up the hood, The camera man started shooting, He made two trips around the car, Stopping once to tape the front of my Jerry C. y-block t-shirt. I proceeded to fill them  in on the return of the y-block in recent years. He did remember the y-blocks.

The show is slated to run on July 17, 2011. on ESPN 2.Lucas Oil Sportsman Series coverage. Between 1 and 3 P.M. EST , I believe  they use this footage during Sportsmen NHRA Racing.  With any luck the y-blocks will get some coverage.
