Looks like a great project!!!! I put a Y in my 53'(Red Sonja)! I've collected pretty much all the literature out there on doing this swap and working around that giant X-member. If you need anything I can scan and email it to you. My buddy that's teaching me to weld created a jig for me and we made some center sump oil pans. Works great I used the old school Hurst front mounts.
I'm a little bit north of you, but I have a few good lines on parts for 52-54s and know where another 53 sedan delivery is sitting here by Portland too; I got some clutch parts off of it!

Very nice... and if you find a supplier for body panels, please let me know. I have a 53 Ford Sedan Delivery, as well as a 53 Meteor Sedan Delivery. .
