He he, like i say: Its a chevy ting, i guess you have to deal with destroyed trans and engines and etc if you go for the chevy. my brother have 3 + the one in the car 3 speeds, and they are all in bad condition. But hey, the chevy got lines too. Its just missing the Y under the hood and every ting would have been perfect Thanks for the good luck, gonna need that on this project. Robin Norway

Robin: The first sentence of your first post is perfect as far as I'm concerned. "chevy transmission needs overhauled...." Good luck with the overhaul. Though we are prejudiced, we are all car guys, brand notwithstanding.

First piece of advice is have really good snap ring pliers.
If you have loose roller bearings, wheel bearing grease will hold them in place for reassembly.
My old Falcon/Comet 6 cyl. non-syncro first three speeds were straight forward. When I was a 17 year old, I had no problems disassembling and reassembling them. and as a 17 year old I gave myself plenty of reason to practice.
My T-10s were really picky about thickness of snap rings holding the output shaft together.
Later transmissions I worked on were similar. Just pay attention and keep things clean.

Bill, that was what i tought, but if any one in here have done it before, it would be nice to share some problems you have had under the rebuild ore stuff to be aware off. My brother have the shop manual from the 1959 chevy, and everything is writed down there. But i like to ask and hear me out with the more experienced guys before i start this project. Learn and hear from the good old guys before they close the door. Alot off good stuff they have going in the head . Anyone know about a good transmission forum ? Thanks Robin Norway

Hi. I hate so say this guys, but my brothers CHEVY 3 speed transmission need overhaul. Since this is a chevy thing, i asked at the chevytalk forum, but have not gotten any good advice yet. I have good experience with you here on this forum, so i hope maybe you make it to give me some advice. All in all, its is just a simpel transemission. I am young, and have never done a overhauling on a transemission before, guess it is time to do it, and learn it. Basic info would be nice Thanks Robin Norway I personally, nicely think this belongs in other companys forum, otherwise may get off course. i would reccommend buying workshop manual covering this trans and then you will have a reference or guide to doing it. But if i,m wrong maybe suggestions could be PM,D to robin. regards bill.
