Tim, I dreamed of an MGB GT when I was about 16!!  even wrote off for some sales literature inquiring about metric fasteners... being from a "country boy" background, I just wasn't sure about a car that had metric nuts and bolts.  never got an MG; had to be satisfied with used American cars thru HS and college. Bought my first "new" car in 1980... a Honda Acord... cause it looked like a BMW!

yes, I've repented since then, getting rid of anything but American iron...

Should have got yourself one, MGs and Triumphs don't use metric fasteners.   Although the early ones use Whitworth which needs a whole different set of tools.

The past 3 months, I have had about zero time for any kind of hobby, not even the Y block...

However, the family and I really enjoy the outdoors. Outdoor anything, really. This past week was our first excursion in a canoe and raft down the South Branch river, tributary of the Potomac, about 7 miles.

 My wife, April, 13 and 11 year old daughters Kayla and Leah, and my 8 year old "bassmaster" EJ. We put 3 or 4 of us at a time in the canoe, and we let one or two of them float down the river in the raft.

 

 

The last 3 images are almost like those crazy "item in a picture" search games. My son EJ actually caught a smallmouth and it blends in well with the rocks on the riverbank. That is a real, live Bald Eagle in the two "tree" photos. We about floated right underneath of him/her. The kids loved that.

This part of the South Branch River is very remote...no people, no houses, just about nothing buT you and God's creation. The part we were on is called The Trough and was named by George Washington years ago back when all of this was in Virginia. The river got its name because the water flows very quickly (and narrow, too) between two very steep and high mountain sides. So steep there is only a railroad track through one of the banks, no roads unless you cross the mountains. Mama got a little worried out there, especially when the canoe got sideways, we got stuck over rocks in rapids, the tow rope got tangled, the water snake that was heading right for her when she was out of the canoe, the new raft sprung a bad leak, etc, etc, etc, BUT we never tipped over one time, and the kids caught quite a few fish.

The kids and I loved it. Mama, not so much, she is too much of a city girl, but she appreciated the time well spent with family. If I had more time, we would do much more of this type of thing. My kids would rather be doing this than being in front of a tv or computer screen.

Farming.  I live on the 50 acre farm I grew up on.  When my Dad passed away, Mom didn't want to stay here, so I bought it from her.  With all the rain here this spring, the crops aren't in the ground yet.  Had one field almost ready yesterday, and it rained again.  Luckily, I don't have to depend on the farm income to make ends meet.

John, just the oppsite down here, crops are drying up in the fields, we need rain bad. Even with all the storms, it has been a very dry spring and hot, supposed to be around 100 degrees again today with no rain in sight.

Sorry you aren't getting the rain Glenn, same old story, plenty of water just not in the right places.  We have had a very wet year after ten years of drought, it rained all day yeasterday while working on the uni, it's June, should be 100 out here by now. Not complaining, just saying.
