If anyone can spare a cap for my clutch master I would be very grateful.  PM me and tell me what you want for one, all the extras I had where so rusted they broke while trying to romove them. w00t

The one on the right of course. Wink

Tim, Is that the top that has the square on the top? What diameter is it? I do have a couple of those but if I remember correctly they were different sizes? Is that a stock one off of something? I'll go look tomorrow.

It's the same size as the one on my '58 and all the broken ones I have.  I thought there was just one size, I'll have to messure it next time I have the hood off.  The one on the '58 has a "flat/spade" on the top, some of the others I've seen have a hex or square top.

Tim, i know this isnt the fact in your case but allways wondered why guys when they see the large hex or square on top of alloy cap cant wait to swing on it with largest wrench to tighten it, why when its only a lid. then once overtightened the brake fluid and the alloy corrode swelling up the lid till you have to destroy it to remove, a very light nip is all thats needed, i just use my fingers like a bottle lid! i notice the replacement cyls often come with nylon/plastic lids and can be easily X Threaded when fitted. Just thought i,d mention this point to avoid future problems for anyone. The new alloy caps are avail from carpenters, job lot and other dealers for anyone requireing new one. BigGrin love the race truck!

Tim: you might try soaking them in a good penitrating fluid, for some time & then gently tap them repeatedly with a light hammer to set up resonance. From my experience in waterfront maintenance it often works.

I did try this, I'm usually good at getting stuck things unstuck but this time not.  The caps are hollow and just collapse.

I need to measure the cap to be sure of the size, I keep meaning to do this but when I'm working I don't think of it. Tongue  I have some doubt to the size since it has been mentioned that there may be two sizes.  I do know it is the same cap that is on my '58 pickup.  Thanks for all the help, sorry for being a slacker on my end. w00t
