Suggestion-Get one for a 58 Ford with Fordomatic.Interchangeable for 55-57 switch and it will start in both park and neutral. They are on Ebay fairly regularily. As a matter of fact I watched one that ended yesterday  with starting price of $25.00 and no takers.

I was wondering the same thing, i might be wrong but thought the 55-56 switch bolted to bracket on side of lower column and 57-59 was on end of shift column tube and was plastic??

The correct 58 Ford switch looks identical to the 55-57 original switch.I dont see one on Ebay right now that is correct.I will post when I run across one.The one I see on Ebay right now is for 58-60 Thunderbird. It has to be for 58 Ford only as the 59 model does use a completely different plastic switch.
