Charlie, another word of thanks for posting those videos and bringing us all of the "action"! I especially appreciate the time you took to get some video of the pits, some of the fellas, and all that test and tune work as the guys were turning wrenches on the blocks. What was going on with the teapot problem? I could make out that Ted was telling someone about needing to turn down the bolt on the air cleaner stud or something?

Would you happen to know if anyone got some "in car" footage?

Well, the pit really is where everything happens and I think it's important for people, especially those who have not yet gone, to see that it's more than racing. You don't have to race to have fun, although I'm sure it does add to it - I wouldn't knowBigGrin.

I'm not sure what the reason is for the teapot lesson. I just happened upon it, already in process.

I know in car videos were at least attempted. If they were successful, I think Ted might have those.

The way I see the dual teapot problem was that Paul apparently backed off the bolts for the air cleaner so that he could get the wing nuts on.  What that created was a vacuum leak at the bushings in the top covers, and that caused the power valves to remain open all the time.  A spacer on the bolts, under the hex portion, would re-seal the bushings, although it reduces the number of threads holding the top on.  A better solution would be to find bolts with a longer upper portion.  I always use a gasket under the head of the bolt to be sure I have no vacuum leak.

John.  Thanks for the explanation on the carb studs.  As usual, you nailed it.

In car footage was indeed taken and Jim will get those posted in the near future.
