I have decided to leave the stock york boat anchor compressor on the shelf. I am going with a sanden 508. I have a 292, 3-speed od, 58 ranchero, has anyone found a good starting point for a compressor mount? One of the guys in the 57 fords forever forum has a nice compressor, alternator bracket he'll let me copy. Just wondering if anything stock might save a little time. I do have the york bracket for y-blocks, and the FE bracket. But they are huge, and will look cobbled up. Thanks in advance for any input. Mark

thanks, Mark

vintage air offers two    15114 vfb   does not fit truck front engine mounts      15120 vfb  for t- birds uses a sanden 507

they also offer a universal bracket   a starting point???    take a look on their website

i purchased one of their "sure fit" air con kits and the bkts came with it ( ive a '56 f100 with 292)  i had to grind the front engine mnt and make up various spacers to get the belts to line up     happy hunting

Have you checked John Mummert's site? I think he has an A/C mount. I know he has PS mounts.

There are some nice mounts out of Texas. One of the old time suppliers of Ford parts. But I can't remember the name. They are aluminum and will mount a Compressor and alternator on the passenger side. Anyone? Chuck in NH

I did a search for Y-Block air conditioner mounts and came up with several. This is an example of what I found. Price isn't bad either.

Your not kidding! My memory is so bad sometimes it's actually got me scared. Looked at two photos the other day, that my wife has on the bulletin board of her great nieces. Took me minutes to remember their names & I'm still not positive which one is which..

You know what they say...the memory is the second thing to go, can't remember what the first thing to go is/was.

You might want to look at Hot Rod Air PN 10-3020, http://www.hotrodair.com/index.cfm/page/ptype=product/product_id=82/category_id=48/home_id=2/mode=prod/prd82.htm

I’m thinking of using their mount on my wife’s 292 Edsel.

I wound up buying from vintage air, nice kit. I tried reaching hot rod air with no luck, I thought maybe the economy got em. I'll do a follow up post with pictures when time allows.

thanks, Mark
