The L1161 carb is a Holley model 4000 four barrel (Teapot) which came stock on the 1956 Ford & Merc 312’s. This particular carb seems to be a favorite for retrofitting on dual quad setups simply because there are so many of them available. If it’s in good condition, the butterflies all open freely, and all the parts are on it, then it is worth whatever you can get for it. That’s simply stating the obvious as I'll not quote prices as that puts me in the position of being both the seller and buyer. If it’s missing parts, then it will still be a good parts carb for other Teapot rebuilds.
