OK! I work/played all afternoon and got the car ready to go back together. Most all the parts are on the engine and the trans is coupled back up. I didn't take a picture of them together though.
I did have a new pan made to work with the marine timing cover, the marine pan was big and "clunky" the new one has a windage try and a scraper. Also it looks quite nice.
I also changed the gears to 4.11s from 4.33s, it always seemed to be out of breath by the end of the quarter. We'll see how it is now.
Messed up my paint a little too.
If I'm not too beat after work today I should be able to slip it all into the chassis. We'll see, Mondays always wear me out.
bla bla bla

Tim, I don't know how you do it! Work a full time job and keep 3 projects going at the same time. Keep it up as long as you can and have fun.

Glen, when it stops being fun I knock off. Sat night around 7pm I had the cam and lifters changed out and was tired! So I just closed up, BBQed a couple of steaks and shared a bottle of Pinot with Kathy while the sun went down.

Tim, what was the oil brand you used and praised to be the best quality ? Or is it cam grinders fault? How much spring load are you using?

The oil is Brad Penn and I will still use it. The cam was a "New" core and the spring load was around 90 on the seat and 210 open, maybe more, it was nearly .600" lift. I still think it's just one of those things. This is the first trouble I've had with a cam since I've used Brad Penn.

Tim how did the lifters look? I just tore down a mild 292 to change to a street cam and noticed several lobes wearing on my cam as well there is something going on here. Too many failures to chalk it up to just one of those things. I am getting paranoid. Maybe we need a spray bar to direct oil to the cam lobes
