Oh, cool. I was just looking at something like that in the Summit catalog. Do the bends come out as good as they look in the pictures - minimal squishing of the pipe?

I don't think it's as simple as it looks, like any machine you find the quirks in it after you use it a bit and compensate.  My friend does a nice job but has messed up a couple of bends on this project alone and he has been using the bender for 20 years or more.  it's all in how you hold your tongue. Tongue

What are you using to bend the tubing?

My friend who has the shop where we are building the car has this, use to be manual but he made it hydrolic.

You can be the Wyzard of Oz and paint the sheet metal rubY red!

As a mater of fact I am going to paint it red with black tubing to match my pit bike. Wink

Todays work has a roll cage on the car, we're getting closer! Smile

It's amazing the amount of time it takes to cut, bend, notch, fit and weld these few pieces. Tongue

In keeping with Johns Scrub comments .People who see the car are going to ask tons of questions and the most common one is why a Y block. My response would be the name of the car Y Not.

I just wish Tim only had the name to choose to be finished, but I'm sure he has lots more to do.  Tim probably wishes it was christening time also.  Personally, I don't like the reference to scrubs for a couple of reasons.  First, only a select few people will understand what the scrub reference is, and secondly, it is possible that Tim will have to embarass other brands of engines also.  Oh, yeah, what would Jerry Christenson say about lettering "scrub" on a Y car?  I can almost hear his response all the way from Minnesota.
