My problem is that when I was 18 I wouldn't have been caught dead in a Ford.... I have come to see the light over the last 47 years or so.

Welcome back! You are forgiven!Tongue

Bill   I remember the simple days when I did not know what I did not know and just kept on with things.  Karol's simple plan to race what you brung and change some parts before racing was very bold even in its day.  Now that I am an Engineer I am in the "Paralysis by analysis" mode ....... Great picture of THE Ford.   - Bob

Ah! bob those were the simple days! couldnt agree more! now we want to know why and how its all happening. I can relate to being 18 with 56 customline, reading scarce US hot rod magazine with hop up tricks, driving out to drag strip, removing exhaust pipes at headers, fitting clamps to rear springs ( saw that in the book!) changing wheels, fitting larger jets to carb, big hand full of advance, out with back seat and we,re off raceing!!!! what fun! and then driving 30 miles home at night with the exhausts still off, no different to most of the guys here!! without the moonshine? best regards bill.

Guys, by now most of you would be drooling in your y block magazine as usual, there's a fantastic pic of young Karol Miller and car at Bonneville, looks like replacing head gasket?  Notice the latham blower near his girlfriends feet.  Reminds most of us that you sure only needed the basic tools and youth to go racing then!  best regards bill.
