hey Y blockers.. So i'm bored, and playin with my new computer and thought it would be fun to start a thread like this.. We all focus on our cars, engines, projects alot and post pics of them regularly but a fun thread would be the people behind the Y.. Some of us have the pleasure of living quite close to one another but alot of us are all the way across the country so let's see who we're talkin to here.. so my first pic is a bit unflattering but i will humble myself before the alter of my fellow Y blockers and say, " Hey, It was St. Paddy's Day and I'm a bog-trotting 3rd gen Irish/American so what else was i supposed to do but get drank under the table by, You guessed it, Me Ma...
And this is the boy i have the absolute pleasure of calling " me boyo"
yeah that's the kid holding the hammer in my 47 Ford in my avatar.. an amatuer bodyman i guess.. (he didn't think it was so fun to play around in after he slammed his finger in the door of some good ol' 63 year old vintage FoMoCo Steel) Everyone elses turn now.. I dare Ya

This is my dream enabler and wife, Corene...........She was the only pit crew during my rookie run at Bonneville in 2007. I don't speak quilting and she don't speak Y-Block, but we support each others hobbies.

Huh...my car doesn't really fit in with all your cars so much, but under the hood it's part of the brotherhood (or it will be once it gets something under the hood). That's my mother beside me. I know, I'm freakishly tall, and she's rather short. It used to make it hard for her to scold me.
In the second pic, that's me next to my dad, next to my favorite car. The Volvo 240, without the turbo, oh yeah! It's a horrible car, but I love that Volvo engineering (heated seats, oh yeah!). No really, this is bad. No heater fan (core works), the wipers have to be operated by hand (so the glove compartments out so you can do that), the doors fight being opened, it leaks like a sieve even though we went and welded up all the holes in the roof. But, and this is key, it gets almost 30 miles to the gallon. And it's rear wheel drive. So I can't give it up...

57FordPU (1/20/2010) This is my dream enabler and wife, Corene...........She was the only pit crew during my rookie run at Bonneville in 2007. I don't speak quilting and she don't speak Y-Block, but we support each others hobbies. Here's my Corinne...I don't speak horses, and she doesn't speak hot rods, but we find things to chat about... It's all a lot more fun with someone around to share it with...and she's coming around a little bit more since the T-Bird arrived
And, perhaps the coolest birthday cake I could have imagined from my wifey...a sugary interpretation of my '60 F-100 (in it's original colors, no less!)
Yeah, it's rough being me sometimes...
