I finished off the exhaust with 2.25 tubing and turbo style mufflers. The engine seems to rev a little "free-er" now and also has more top end which could enhanced by the dual exhaust. As far as fitting a 54 merc I have no idea.

Will they fit a 1954 Mercury with 3 speed manual trans?

Thanks for the complement. The collectors and the front tubes from either side were used, they had a bend in them that worked out going over top of the #2 and #6 cylinder. I have no idea what the application for the sbc headers are, I scrounged from the scrap metal bin at work. Long tubes would probably make more power, but would compromise ground clearance, so I went this route. Primary tube diameter is 1.5 inches, anything larger will get tight between the frame/ steering box. Flanges,4 or 5 bends I'm into them for about $125.00.

Dude you did a really good job on those. Is all you used off the sbc headers is the collectors or did you used some of the tubes also? What kind of headers did you use? Like #5 sez "More Info, need more info" (from the movie "Short Circuit" from 1986 with Ally Sheedy). Sorry, been watching old movies with my Grandson...

Hi RMK,  They look great.  If the rest of your exhaust system is free flowing, you should see some serious horsepower gains.  Well done.  Nick Brann - K.C., MO

Just finishing up headers for my 57 Custom. I cannibalized a set of sbc headers for the collectors and bought y-block flanges and a few U-bends. They fit great with lots of spark plug access/header bolt access. Only the brake light switch has to be removed for installation.Hope the photos show up.
