Just recently purchased an E code 57 Tbird that someone had removed the 2 four barrel intake manifold, carbs, and linkage from. Does anyone have an idea on where I might come up with these parts? I am posting on different message boards but all thoughts are appreciated.

Ditto on what tall have said here.

just my 2 cents. If you gather up the proper parts for this setup faithfully it WILL help the value of the car.

Just don't get any ideas about it being the "hot" setup for the car cause as you will learn here, there are more cost effective ways to get there. Just depends on what you're after.

If I had that VIN # on mine I'd be looking for the right stuff.

On the valley cover-you might get lucky and still have it on the car. It has a rectangular indentation in the top of it.

I know of more than a few E and even F cars that don't have or run what they came with because of practicality. But a wise owner has the stuff packed away at home somewhere. BigGrin

I have a friend that makes the E code reproduction valley pans.  I had made my own and have since switched to his.

His name is Tony Beluchi his numer is 515-321-0767 he is located in Des Moines Iowa.  He will ship it to you.

I have used adaptors on the E code manifold and now use 500 CFM Edelbrocks , works GREAT!

hope this helps

Jim

WELL, I THINK ITS A SIMILAR COMPARISON BETWEEN COMMON OLD MUSTANGS AND THEN THE SHELBYS, THEY ARE RARE AND HENCE EXPENSIVE! IT WORKS THE SAME WAY WITH THIS MARQUE OF CAR. I CAN ONLY SUGGEST GO SLOWLY AND GATHER UP THE PARTS BIT AT A TIME SO YOU DONT NOTICE THE COST SO MUCH.

Yep,yblock32deuce is correct w00t

MOST IMPORTANT is the correct valley pan for the "E" code engine.

Without it the intake does not seat properly and when tighted -WILL CRACK.

Other things to be aware of specific to the "E" engine is the distributor and automatic transmission.

While all will fit from the Y Blocks-these are specific to the "E" code engine.

Probably should sell that nasty, old, incompleate car to me Tongue

Hey thanks for your help.  Wow,  didn't  realize I was going to have to rob a bank to play in this league!  Maybe I should have stayed with the Mustangs.

Still need linkage, correct intake and hold down clamps, fuel lines and block and I"m sure a few other odds and ends.

As I said, not cheap and I am not affiliated with these auction items.

Just found the intake

If you would like to contact me,I can help.

The original parts for these "E" setups are expensive.

I have a intake listed in the classified section and they pop up on ebay ever not and then. Finding the orginal carbs is going to be tough and expensive.
