Ken. Great looking ride. Always had a soft spot for ’56 Customlines.

Its a 272 with a T86 overdrive which is exactly what my first car started out with. This one has a white top and mine was solid blue. I had various engines in it for about 7 years and then I put a 272 back in it right before I got married. Gas wasn't a big deal in those days at 20 cents a gallon, but back tires and cluster gears, reverse idler gears and input shafts in theT86 would not fit into the budget with supporting a wife. My wife drove the original one about 8 years and I did only maintenance. She finally got tired of the old Hurst Mystery shifter that was so worn out that at least once or twice a week she had to crawl under the car to pop it back under the car. She weighed less than 100 lbs. carried a piece of cardboard in the trunk and could slide right under the car. Below is a link to the original one as well as the one I just bought. The original color photo has faded and the car looks gray, but it was the same color of blue. In those days I could still get the original paint color at any parts house http://picasaweb.google.com/crenwelgeoil/OurWedding02#5414396661431006034http://picasaweb.google.com/crenwelgeoil/2009_11_19?authkey=Gv1sRgCMDm8eGroe6dCw#5414166759422803346
