Huh, finally finished the translation and the whole story. It now covers 9 pages out of 68 in our club magazine with great photos of the event. Thanks Carson, thanks Lauren ! Well, lots of pages are still empty, so the magazine is not ready yet...

So, this evening I started the translation of Carsons and Laurens exciting trip to Mexico and I have to say it is sooo slooowly to do. At first I thought just to translate that plog into Finnish, but as we live up here in north and almost nobody knows anything about La Carrera Panamerica, I decided to put some history to that story also. And so it goes... A little bit from Wikipedia, something from google and suddenly I notice that there is a hell of a lot story about the race itself and almost nothing about Carsons achievements . Hmmm, I wonder if this story will clear it's way to our Club Magazine 4/2009 which is supposed to be ready for the Christmas ... Good stories just take their time to develop... I'm working on it and lot's of 80 proof Stroh will pass my throat before it is done... But Carson, I promise that you will be the hero of the story !

Carson, this is the picture I meant and it is from Laurens Smugmug or something photo library. http://lscheller.smugmug.com/Other/La-Carrera-Panamericana-2009/10174025_7mg3r#700991162_66R3D-A-LB Sakke is leaning to the rear fender and it is the co-driver who is posing with Lauren there. Unfortunately we don't have more T-shirts yet, but maybe we have to do some support t-shirts to earn some money for that dragster build up. Or hats or something. And of course one lady-fit to Lauren. Also, the Ford Freak logo was the last one that I had. Don't know if Jyrki has any in his collections? And as far as I know, our club has no intention to produce more of those at the moment. Rare ones, I would say . Good to hear that it generates questions at the field. Also it is as good, that at the time those were made, we made only 30 Ford Homo decals. That would have made lot more questions for Charlie . I have one, so does Jyrki. We are Ford Homos. (Ford People). http://www.ford-freak.org/Archives/ford_homo.htm

The LCR-team driver/co-driver Sakke Järvenpää is also co-founder of another great Finnish band; Sleepy Sleepers. Check this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gIgG5yl9pGc http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leningrad_Cowboys Here is middle 80's photo of Sakke painting Pontiac convertible with brush in the parking lot middle of Helsinki.
Hollow Head (11/25/2009) I did similar story to 1/2009 issue of our magazine about Charlie Burns and his great moments at Bonneville and Maxton, exept I got the story and pics from Charlie. And that's why Charlie carries our "colours" on his racing jacket . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0lNFRLrP014
Hey Seppo, I would like a "Ford Freak" badge myself since I am going to get my own fire suit for Christmas from my wife. Think you might send me one? You would not believe the amount of people that asked about that tag on Charlie's suit @ El Mirage.
