Ted - Regarding the first part of your thread - downloading from your computer (no outside picture hosting site).
If you click on the mountain with the sun what comes up is a box with a question mark and saws "Enter the full URL to the image to insert". Below that is a box with "URL" to insert the URL. Since we are downloading from our own computer, there is no URL. No "Browse" pops up or is shown. Using the picture identifer does not work.
This happens if you are either the edit mode, the add response mode or add topic mode.
I use Mozilla Firefox. If I try this when on AOL, hitting the mountain with the sun produces nothing???????
Any suggestions?

I get the same URL thing with the mountain. I've tried it on 3 computers so it's unlikely that it is settings specific to each computer. I haven't been able to use the built in picture upload since the site changed.

Thanks guys for the additional input on the ‘browse’ function not being available when using the mountain icon. I’ll pass this on to Jim. I’m totally clueless as to why some members can get the 'Browse' function and others can not. I get two options in the popup window that comes up when using the mountain icon. One is "Upload image" and the other is "Link to image". The 'Browse' function is part of the "Upload image" bar. I'm assuming that some of you can only get the "Link to image" bar while others (myself included) can also get the "Upload image" bar. I have never used the 'Link to image' but I see the option there. In the meantime, using outside picture hosting services should still work but pictures must be resized so that they are 600 wide or less. The smaller pictures come up easier for those of us with dialup with pics being 600W or less while also eliminating scrolling issues with standard sized screens or monitors.

If you are using Firefox when you hit reply a popup will open as post reply, you have to scroll down further and see post options, then edit attachments. Click on edit attachments and then the browse feature is there. Click on browse and find your picture then upload attachments.

I did what marv says. Everything works ok until I hit the upload attachments and then it says "Sorry you have already exceeded your available space or this would cause you to exceed your available space". What does this mean??? I have already mentioned this problem but never received an answer to it. This was a very small picture

Ok - I tried again - this time I clicked on "Manage attachments" and found there were 5 pictures that I had previously posted. I deleted them all and the previously mentioned statement did not come up and was able to get i pic to work - however, instead of a pic, there was a click on thing in the message instead of the pic See previous post = Why???????

You are allowed 512 KB so if using a full sized picture you will exceed the max allowed.
Picture of my crown and the Tabby we tow with it.
