does anyone happen to have this air filter, or does anyone know where I can get one. Even FRAM's own website yields no results, but what would you expect. It does not have to be a FRAM, but this is the only number that I have from the old element itself. This may be off a 1957-59 air cleaner - I don't know. I bought it some time ago and my father-in-law wanted me to paint it the Ford argent color and install it on his club sedan.

Daniel:

I show a CA164PL dimensions are 13 3/16 OD at top, 12 9/16 OD at bottom, 10 7/16 ID with height of 2 5/16 fitting 61 -63 Ford, Lincoln, Mercury Motorcraft part number FA-5 original part number C1VE-9601. Crosses to Wix 42053, Purolator AFP-40

Check that the dimensions I gave you are the same as your original filter as there may have been a changeup over time or the CA164PL is a different filter.

Marv - that's real genius! BigGrin Exact dimensions of the one I hold in my hand...guess that air cleaner came off of something else. Boy it looks just like a cleaner from the 50's...I could swear it was off a Y block! thanks for the info, I will start the parts search afresh and anew...

Daniel:

I checked my Ford parts book today and that filter shows up as "US tourist" fitting 292 and 352 engines.

There were no Y-blocks in the cars in Canada after the1958 model. Y-blocks were available in trucks until 1964

Marv,

thanks again, I found the exact replacement at a local CarQuest auto parts in the next town. $11 total for a Wix brand air filter. Can't beat that!
