Is anyone looking for a set?  I can buy an engine with two 471's but dont need anything there except maybe the hydraulic clutch setup.  The block was an ECZ-C, so I helped the guy partially break it down for a further evaluation.  Found it was a 292, instead of the 312 he was advertising.  The heads look good.  No water in the comb. chambers, couldnt see any crack between two center exhausts.  Location S. Oregon.

Mike, located in the Siskiyou mountains, Southern, OR 292 powered 1946 Ford 1/2 ton, '62 Mercury Meteor, '55 Country Squire (parting out), '64 Falcon, '54 Ford 600 tractor.

Barry, thanks for the PM, for now I'll just respond here.  Since you expressed interest, then there is interest, and I've therefore made an initial offer.  The man isnt convinced yet it is a 292, so he is pulling the pan to check main caps.  I didnt want to buy this engine and only end up with more unwanted parts.  If we come to terms the price for the heads would be $125-150.  That would have me breaking even plus 25 or so.  As for milling cant say because I was interested in cracks at the time.

Unfortunately Columbus is too far for my budget.

Got your pm, thanks, keep in touch . Cleaning and crack checking sounds like the right plan.   Barry
