Jeff,

You can get a pretty decent, rebuilt '57 up unit at Autozone for about $65, but, as John told you, the gear, or the cam will need to be changed for your 256 Merc.

I have a new 1957 dizzy for sale. Never been out of the box. I got it from a guy who drove for Ford delivering parts to dealerships and parts houses in Western NC in the 50s and 60s. I am chraging my camera batteries to take a pic of it to post here.  All you need are a cap and rotor  .$125.00 wpccgrad@hotmail.com
