Sure would appreciate some pics of any '57 (car) engine compartments... I'm close to getting mine sorted out and would enjoy seeing some inspirational shots of really clean, buttoned up engine bays from fellow-'57 owners.

Mine's a 64B 2-door post Fairlane 500, red/white, 272, 3-on-the-tree...

Just finished installing my first attempts at steel, hand-bent tubing for the oil pressure sender-to-guage, vacuum lines from engine to fuel pump-to-wiper motor, intake-to-distributor, and will soon do the fuel pump-to-carb.

So, how 'bout it...I'll show you mine if you show me yours!

thanks, Mark

Heres what i did to my 57's firewall first of all i didn't like the seem down the center where they spot welded the firewall together so i cut the seem and welded it as one piece along with getting rid of the heater core and fan to make the firewall bare and smooth im hopefully going to paint it next week. More pictures of my project on my website link in my signature.

here is my engine compartment in my 59 Mercury. Same as 57 models.

I need the correct air cleaner. Anyone got one for sale?

Picture taken in 1960. Funnily enough it still looks like this! BigGrin
