That reminds me of being at the Melbourne hot rod show quite a few years ago. A mate and I were standing looking at a '34 coupe that had a set of Lincoln y-block rocker covers adapted to a 253 or 308 (what ever ) and over heard an old hot rodder ( who had had many y-blocks) exclaim that he didn't realise that you could bolt Holden exhaust manifolds to a y-block!!!

Sounds like he was embarrassed to have a cheby, less trouble to just swap it for the real thing

Dave and Pete, one of my mates has a 36 ford coupe with a C#&%)** engine in it when he purchased it, at least he had the decency to paint the engine in ford colors, adapt Y block valve covers  to the C%(^)&@ covers and use 58 ford aircleaner! so at 1st glance at least it looks right?  Best regards aussie bill.

Nice one Dave, nothing better than seeing the reaction of the chev and holden boys to a ford in a GM product. Seems it's O.K. to put a scrubs in anything, but not the other way round. Y-block into 59 FC Holdens was a good one, a mate had this set up and it went like a cut cat.

A while ago I read a thread about - wouldn't it be good to see a y-block in a scrub ?

Well I've finally got hold of photos of a mate's '37 Chev that he built with a y-block. The car was built in the early eighties. We now laugh about it because he eventually pulled th y-block and put a 350 in it and has had nothing but trouble ever since !! L.O.L. Actually in a conversation we had about this he reminded me of several Aussie GM products that were repowered by y-blocks ( especially during the sixties & early seventies ). ie. Rod Hadfields FJ Holden .There must be more out there , so show us your photos.
