I only paid 75.00 for the heads which were 113s. I went to this guys house to buy a 573 intake and got the heads too.

$275 isn't bad if that is outright. Remember if you find a set on eBay for say $150 it will cost another $150 or more to ship them. If the others are in your area they may be the cheep ones in the long run. Also if they are local it is easier to take them back if there is a problem.

I am going to take your advise and wait this out. I really do not need to make the investment right now. Not sure I want to really end up with a high compression when a little lower compression engine with the 1958-59 57542-113 heads would probably be more suited for what I need. Thanks so much for letting me know this is a little on the "high end". Your input was a big help. Your 2 cents saved me a lot of money! Outlaw 56

I think you can get some cheaper if you look hard enough. It depends on how bad you want them. I dont know where you are but I had a set done at a local machine shop andmit cost me 335.00 . That was for everything new valves, springs, retainers, seats etc. I had a set of rockers so that wasnt an issue. So, you got 275 in them to get them plus machine work. Around 500 finished. You should get a set for 150-200 . But, its your money and your engine. my 2 cents

I have a 292 with ECG-D heads and have swapped out the original two barrell intake manifold with a ECZ 9425-B four barrell/500 CFM Thunder Series Edelbrock. I have a chance to pick up a set of 312 ECZ-G heads. The present heads, I believe, are off a 272. I am wondering about picking up the ECZ-G Heads and having them rebuilt so I can swap them out at a later date. I can get these heads for around $275. They have been magnafluxed and show no cracks. I need an opinion or two on whether or not this head swap is compatibale and if $275 is too much to pay for these heads. Thanks! Outlaw 56
