Hello everyone.

I heard of the site by way of the HAMB and John.

I am currently building a 37 Ford p/U "Hot Rod".

The engine could be one of two and only two. First consideration was a small block Ford. I have built quite a few of them and they all have performed above par.

BUT I am going for a certain sound. That sound can only be replicated by a Y-block. There is a certain F-100 on you tube that really reminded me of the old days in high school.

My high school buddies had a pair of 62 F-100 with 292's in them. I never forgot the sound.Cool Then my step dad picked a 56 T-bird.

So finally I get back into building street rod and customs.

I have acquired a 3 x 2 intake and a nice 61 292. Progress is up and pit falls are down.

I really only need a bell housing for a t-5 adaptation, a good set of heads (if we don't mod these) and just a few other odds and ends.

I'll be posting some progress and I go.

I've seen your pickUp on the HAMB. It's awsome.

You'll like it here, The best knowledge for the Y, AND you'll get that sound. Cool

Hey! that's My Truck.  Tongue

First off thanks for the repsonse on the truck..march is the completion date.  So far so good.

LOL!  Yeah I know.   I told my father in law that I was building a Y-block for my truck.   A slight puzzled look...I showed him your truck on you tube....His remark...."HOLY CRAP! I remember that sound"

It seems I am kinda his channel back into time.

Hey got all misty eyed when I took him for a 140 mph blast at Willow springs.  With him being a chevy fan I had to put it to a chevy..

Hello Pete,

Welcome to the site.  Is the "John" you refer to, Mummert?  If it is, you are in good fortune to know him.  There are a number of very knowledgeable Y-Blockers here and John is in the company of the best of them.   It also must be nice to be so close to his shop.

Best of luck with the project...............
