This is the event that’s been postponed a couple of times and is now taking place Nov 9th. Just looking for a roll call on who’s planning on being there. I plan on going. http://www.texasfordshootout.net/files/raceflyer.jpg

I was real excited to debut my car car with the 4 hour trip behind it. Engine runs great! BUT, last sat. the AOD bit the dust. Only had a couple hundred miles on it. Engine's back out. Parts scattered all over. Tranny goes back to the shop today. The short answer, no I'm not going to be there. Had big plans. I'm no transmission expert-but I'm pretty sure that pile of metal shards shouldn't be in the pan.

Al. Sorry to hear about the tranny trouble. Just glad you caught it now and not on a four hour journey. For the rest of us, the Denton weather forecast for Sunday looks good. No rain and a high of 74°F.

Ted,
I intend to be there, possibly without a car. The T-Bird race car
is apart, and the yellow Bird's transmission is being rebuilt.

Good to see you’re still around and welcome to the site. Look to see you, the Church brothers, Ketter brothers, and the rest of the gang at the track Sunday.

There is a big difference between, Spectator and Contestant, I again found my Son and I watching many a good races at the Ford Shootout in Denton, TX.. I was disappointed to have Ernie sharing the sideline with me, and not out there doing battle with the rustangs.. But the Y Blocks were well represented with the Church Bros's T-Bird and Ted's altered.. First time seeing the Church Bros's T-Bird, and was very impressed, If you want to believe the guy from Leona..?? Much impressed with the Bros personally, great people.. Hope they make it back to this area.. Hey even Jim looked good over on the spectator side starting line taking pictures..

Jim. Thanks for posting the pictures and the link for the Ford race at North Star Dragway. Great shots of the cars by both yourself and Terri and really like that wheels up shot of David Church in his ’55 T-Bird.
