Charlie you are correct it it a S-10 shifter. Shift lever with need a double bend becuase as it sits now I can only get it in neutral 1st, 3rd and 5th gears. Mr4speed due to the year of my transmission (93) I had to send it to Mummert and have it altered. Everything fit and bolted together fine.

What did you do for a bellhousing? Adapter plate or modified stock bellhousing holes?

The shifter location was the driving force in doing all the work. I wanted it to be located within the trans cover so I didn't have to cut the floor up. I was please with the out come and thats all that matters. After all my scuffed up knucles and cuts will heal.

That is a lot more work than I did on mine but I like the location of your shifter.

I never said I was a fast worker but... Still have some worh to do but I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Wanted to post some pictures for those thinking of doing the same. Swap was pretty easy overall but relocating the speedo was the hardest. Eneded up using a couple small cone shaped dremel stones to get the hole stated. Finished the hole with a 11/32 drill bit. Hope this this will help somebody in the future. This link was very helpful http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=280529Old transmission and new Transmission Old tail housing and new tail. Old speedo location and new location Pictures of the shifter location

John you are correct the S-10 tail fits perfectly in the tans cover. I was just hoping not to either cut the floor pan or change the tail. It looks like one of them will have to be done. Shouldn't complain after all the trans was free!

Truckers: As an aside note, my son and I put an s10 T5 in his '65 Mustang. We adapted the chev trans to the sbf bellhousing and the shifter came out in the center of the factory shifter hole in the floor. I'm sure it would come out within the original transmission covers on your trucks with an s10 tail. John

Greg thanks for the info as it may come in handy. Cody I did find a thread on the net that is pretty detailed with pictures on how to swap out a ford tail with a S-10 tail in case you don't want to cut the floor pan. Bing http://66.154.44.164/forum/showthread.php?t=280529
