Hi, I have a good used Tbird harmonic balancer that I can sell you for $350 plus shipping. I can send additional pix if you are interested. Bill wabateATverizonDOTnet It hadn’t occurred to me to mention until I saw the photo, but mine is single pulley. Are you sure you have a 55-57 Tbird damper? I thought all had double pullleys; mine does. Sorry, don’t know what I thinking about (not enough coffee yet). No power steering or P. brakes on my car, but only one T-Bird damper model.

My 55 Tbird doesn't have power steering or power brakes, but it rolled off the assembly line with power windows, power seat, and Fordomatic, and the damper has 2 pulleys. I've converted the seat to manual and removed the motors, relays, and wiring from behind the seat. I would prefer manual windows as well. Neither of my other cars (even though they are much newer) has power seats, and I don't miss them. The Fordomatic is being replaced with a built C5 transmission with C4 valve body, torque converter, and wide-ratio gear set.

If all else fails, check with Innovators West, I bought a TB damper from them for my '55. Joe-JDC Out of curiosity, I just looked at Innovators West site; I wasn't aware that they had a Tbird application. However, it says "Uses 4-bolt Late Model SBF Pulley Pattern." It also says "does not retain stock accessory belt offsets. Please contact Eaton Balancing (254-857-3339) for further details." That reference on the Innovators West website about the IW Thunderbird damper (#221) requiring changes to the accessory belt offsets is a reference that’s specific to the #220 Y-Block damper and does not apply to the IW TBird damper. When using the IW available pulley on the IW Thunderbird damper (#221), the belt does align as expected with the Thunderbird w/p and generator pulley belt grooves. It’s the IW #220 damper that has the fan and generator belt ~5/8” shy of aligning with the IW damper and thus requiring the generator and the fan pulley to be moved forward accordingly.

You must be tall (?). With the motors/etc. gone, and no soft top behind, I’ll bet the seat goes back much farther than mine. I’m now only 5’9”, but I can’t imagine driving any closer to the pedals.

Nope. 5'8" & 153 lbs. I didn't convert to manual for more leg room, I did it to get rid of the motors, relays, wiring, and seat bar. Although I have both tops (soft top has the swing bar), I've stored the soft top in my basement, covered the trunk divider with black vinyl and installed two 6 x 9 speakers, installed 3-point seat belts (originally it had none), and installed mid carpet behind the seat.
