I have a major oil Leak from my new engine. Sits overnight after being driven and next Morning there is a Puddle of about a liter of oil at back of engine toward right side. It looks dry in Area of Rear Mail Seal. Is there anything at back of Block where Transmission bolts up that would be Leaking?  Oil Passage Plug or just the Cam Plug that may be leaking? I am going to start it up and watch for Leak underneath. I am at a bit of a loss to understand what is leaking. Just looked at Illustration of back of Block. There are 2 Oil Plugs but they are low on left Side. and the Cam Plug. This leak is ending up on Floor on the Right Side. So hopefully my problem is accessible if I can figure out where leak originates. Any Ideas appreciated. Thanks!

What valley cover are yuu using - the tin one?  Look for a leak there.  And vlalve cover gaskets can be a problem.
There is a bolt on the head near the distributor that can leak oil .  Make sure the bolt is there, and make sure it is a short one.

I have a Mumert Valley Pan for exactly that Reason. Trying to eliminate all Leaks. Is that Bolt by Distributor the One for Plug Wires or is there another I might have overlooked. Is that Bolt located to the left of distributor near the Bracket for Ignition Wires?  Thanks for suggestion.

Standard shift or automatic transmission?  Standard trans gear oil can look like engine oil when sitting on a garage floor.  If an overdrive transmission, then the seal at the overdrive electric solenoid is highly suspect.

If engine oil, right side leakage points to the valley cover or a valve cover.  The most rear hole on the right-side cylinder head under the distributor cap that is normally used for the spark plug wire bracket can leak oil if left open but not in the amounts you indicate.  If a valley cover or valve cover leak, then surely this is also leaking when the engine is also being driven.

Automatic. I am going to get front up on Jack Stands Today and run it while  watching. Shouldn't be hard to see. Leaking quite a bit. Thanks Ted.
