Hello members  Helping a friend find parts for 56 thunderbird T-85 OD trans. Needs a  speedometer DRIVE gear. Ford part number is MC-17285-A.  . This gear was also used in 55-56 merc with T-85 OD (IP-17285-B) and 55-56 ford with auto trans. Thinking maybe someone with a 55 or 56 ford-o-matic parts trans might have one for sale. I have seen them  in both nylon and steel, 8 tooth left helix . I believe  steel drive gears are destroyed by using wrong OD governor or lack of lube. Thanks.

I have used the first three and they are good.  No experience with the other two.
You might try Hill's Automotive, CASCO and Prestige.  They may have some used tran's around with the part.  I don't think it is reproduced at all.

I have bought parts from Gary Vukivic; I got his contact information from Amos Minter. I wouldn't hesitate to buy parts from him again, but he will not accept a credit card. He prefers personal check or Walmart Money Transfer. Gary has two residences. He usually spends winters in Florida. 

I have also bought parts from Ross Woodman. Ross & I are members of the Sacramento Classic Thunderbird Club.I doubt that Ross has what you need because it's not included in his Parts for Sale list in our monthly newsletter. 

You might try Hill's and Prestige as well. 

What about VanPelt sales?  They have a lot of transmission parts.
