hi all ,,,   i have a nos timing chain that was purchased for a y block  but is clearly wrong.  it is new old stock  but i think  it may have been in the wrong box. D and B silent chains is the brand on the box and number     C 492 .  the actual chain which is a link job has no numbers at all just USA   m ade on the links .   is there anyway that i can work out what it may fit??  is it for a similar Ford product??  any clues would help. no pics yet.  maximum width across the links is approx 13/16 s .  1/2 inch from rivet head to rivet head. overall length when rolled out is 24 inches.

Pictures of both the front and rear sides of the upper gear would help.  The tooth count on both the upper and lower gears would also help.  An I.D. measurement of the lower crankshaft gear hole would also be a good indicator of what family or families of engines that particular gear might fit.
