Can a connecting rod be disconnected from the piston from the bottom. My plan it to remove the piston pin without exposing the lower ring on the piston. I want to see if one of the connecting's rods is bent. I did not want to remove the head. Any help would be appreciated. Larry

Forget it. I just tried to pull the piston out.  It is blocked.  Thanks Larry

Even if you could somehow remove the pin and separate the rod from the piston, I didn't see how the rod could clear the crank. What makes you think that the rod could be bent?
