I know this isn't about y block engines but don't know where else I can get answers for thus 54 capri.
I'm trying to get the stainless strips off the car. I see a nut inside the fender that holds the front strip on, but don't know where the remaining ones are located. And I figured that there would be a fastener every foot or18 inches. After I took the front fastener off, I gently pulled the strip away but it didn't come out very far so it must be attached somehow.
Plus, what's the best way to prep the old paint before getting it painted? There are a few places where the paint is gone and slight surface rust is starting. I want to cover that with something so the rust will be treated. I'm trying to keep the paint bill down by prepping as much as I can but don't want to do something that will cause the painters issues.
