Hello  Members   Anyone here have any advise on using a borgeson PS box with stock eaton pump on 57 car?  Have ask around over on 57 ford site with not much luck. Borgeson box require 1000 psi and stock pump max 900 psi and 2 gal/min (ford cook book). Was thinking shimming pressure spring a little (like we do on oil pumps) to get it up. Fella over on 57 ford said he tried it but pump ran too hot but he didnt know what PSI was. Was thinking it was over shimmed. Any thoughts on this might save me time and mess. Thanks

Well, you are going to need a pressure and temp gauge to get it to where you need it.

Most likely you will need a cooler to prevent the overheating (and fluid viscosity drop). They are available to mount in front of the radiator but a smaller version can be used (possibly hidden) if it will control the overheating,

You are wanting to maintain an OEM appearance, no SAGINAW PUMP?

These parts work very well together. I've installed power steering on 6 different old Gm trucks (47-55) using these old Eaton pumps mainly because of the vintage look. I designed my own mounting bracket for the 6 cyl engines. The Borgeson steering box that I use is from 70s GM truck. The power steering works incredible with no issues.
