It's a 56 Victoria. I understand the T-Birds had the same style wheel and horn ring but in 14".

Chuck:

My '56 Bird still has its original wheel, it's 17 inch.  I think at least one of the T-Bird parts suppliers once offered a smaller wheel,  looks like original.  I just looked in my 2019 catalog from Casco.  They listed then, a 15 inch wheel.  Only $350 then.

There have been a number of complaints posted on Tbird forums regarding fitment issues with those smaller steering wheels sold by Tbird suppliers. You might want to look into it and see if the issue has been resolved. 14-inch is pretty small, particularly if you don't have power steering, but I don't think the reproduction 56-57 wheels are that small.

Forever Sharp should have an adapter that will work for aftermarket steering wheels, other than the smaller wheel sold by Tbird suppliers.

I was of the assumption that my current wheel was 15" according to these posts it is actually 17". So going down to 14" would be rather extreme. I guess I was looking for the 15" Casco style and didn't know it. I do have power steering so that shouldn't be a problem. I'll take a look at the Tbird forums about it. Thanks for the information.

A friend added PS to his 57 Bird and the smaller 15” wheel so he could fit easier. He’s not a big guy but 82 years old. It was not a problem in any way. If I knew I could exactly match the Peacock on my 1956 Victoria I would do it too.

I don't know if this is the same color as "Peacock", but you might want to take a look: vintagethunderbird club.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=22036.

I know at least a couple guys who bought that 15” wheel from the Tbird suppliers and it went right on. Works fine with p/s, is heavier with manual. I also saw a post on another forum where someone bought one at a swap meet and it wouldn’t go on. Turned out they also made them (not the bird suppliers) for a GM column. Not surprising given the number of those columns that ended up in hot rods.

I painted a different wheel to match my 55 bird in the original light green interior color. Used a 2 part urethane, and it dried a little different. Took the paint person a second try to get the “dried” color right, but she nailed it.
