Someone I know recently bought a CRT distributor for his 57 Ford (not Tbird). He said that the distributor body won't clear the firewall. Have any of you experienced this?  I know the female cap is shorter than the male cap (which he has), but apparently a shorter cap won't solve his problem.

Is it possible that the motor mounts are reversed? That will move the engine back enough to cause this problem.

Y's guys rule!
Looking for McCullouch VS57 brackets and parts. Also looking for 28 Chrysler series 72 parts. And early Hemi parts.

It is possible, being it's not the original engine. Thanks.
