As some of you know, I live ~180 miles south of Ted Eaton's shop in San Antonio, TX, and have had him visit me several times over the years, along with some notable Y Block owners that have visited with Ted here at my home and shop. Being retired, I built a single room shop at the back of my detached garage, and it has been my "man cave" for everything Ford for several years. I have a lift, porting booth with dust collector, SF-600 Flow Bench, and other working equipment to build engines at my pace. One of the notable folks that Ted has brought with him to visit me has been Mr. Karol Miller from Round Rock TX, which is between Ted's shop and my home. Mr. Miller has visited me a couple of times, now, and it is a complete joy to talk with him and listen to his knowledge of the Y block. Each time Karol has visited, he has been gracious enough to send me a picture of something Y, and this time was no exception. I feel honored to have had Ted and Karol visit and go for lunch. Karol got to see my 613 hp Y block, and some of the new Mummert intakes that I have ported for folks. Here are a couple of pictures of my mail received from Karol. I called Karol to ask for his permission to show these pictures, and he granted permission. I hope to be as alert at 94 as he is. Thanks Ted, Karol.

That is wonderful! I always love reading the stories of Karol Miller and his effort to put the Y Block out front. Now, the question is "How can I buy one of those great t-shirts?"

When traveling cross country to visit our daughter and her family our return home is never complete without stopping to see Karol and his wife. It’s always been our pleasure. He too has brought me to me Ted and see his shop. As a 13 year old growing up reading Hot Rod magazine, the records of a certain 56 Ford Victoria, and having one as a family car; then meeting him as he visited his daughters family in Southern California was something a youngster could only imagine was going to happen over 55 years later when our grandsons played on the same youth baseball team.
