Seeing as how no one has made a comment yet, I’ll throw this out there.

While I have no experience with the Howards camshafts for a Ford Y, examining the specs makes the Howards 292002 camshafts somewhat similar to the Isky E-4 (301444) other than Howards offering that grind with 110° & 112° lobe centerline versions instead of 108° like the Isky.  292002-10 and 292002-12 are the Howards part numbers for those two camshafts with the suffix numbers indicating the lobe centerline value. While Isky offers the E-4 at 108° lobe centerline as a catalogue offering, I have special ordered the E-4 camshaft in the past with 112° lobe centerlines for use in automatic equipped vehicles.

Looking at the Howards spec sheets in closer detail shows a more aggressive lobe profile which would be indicative of slightly better idle vacuum numbers than the Isky.  The Isky would have slightly more ‘rump’ at the exhaust though based both on the 108° lobe centerline value and a slightly longer advertised duration value.

Performance wise, both the Isky E-4 and Howards 292002-10 camshafts would be similar.  Those smaller camshafts do work well with the older Holley 94’s or Strombergs on the 3X2 setups as those older carbs do get finnicky when going overboard on the duration numbers.  If going with a more modern induction setup (carbs and intakes) then those two camshafts will be on the small side.

Just food for thought so other comments always welcome.
